Q: Can we start from a tech pack, photos or a physical belt?

Yes, but each input supports a different level of analysis. A controlled tech pack is the clearest start. Photos can communicate styling but do not prove exact dimensions, hidden construction or material identity. An authorized physical belt can support more detailed comparison, but the review scope should state which features may be measured, opened or tested and which remain unknown.

Q: What should the sample quotation define?

It should define the sample type and purpose, deliverables, fee, material and hardware assumptions, tooling, included revision terms, packaging or print proofs, testing, courier and customs responsibility, approval owner, schedule trigger and exclusions. If any item is provisional, the quotation or sample record should identify what must replace it before golden sample approval.

Q: Are sample fees credited against a later bulk order?

Only when the quotation or agreement explicitly says so. Buyers should not assume an automatic credit. Sample fees can vary with material development, hardware, tooling, branding, packaging proofs, testing, complexity and revision scope. Courier, customs, third-party laboratory work and new tooling may be separate line items.

Q: Who owns a custom buckle tool made for the sample?

The written quotation or agreement must decide this. Before tooling begins, confirm the approved drawing, tool purpose, fee, custody, ownership, permitted reuse, maintenance, replacement, storage conditions and what happens if the design changes. The website does not create a default ownership or storage promise.

Q: How many sample revision rounds are included?

There is no universal included number. The quotation should state the included round or rounds and what counts as a revision. A material change, new buckle, new tool, new logo method, packaging redesign or changed test scope may require a new quotation and schedule. One consolidated file with measurable redlines helps each round close defined decisions.

Q: When does a development sample become the golden sample?

Only after the required material, construction, dimensions, hardware, function, color, branding, packaging and agreed test or claim scope are resolved and the designated buyer approver accepts the identified version in writing. The golden sample should be linked to the current tech pack, BOM, swatches, hardware reference, artwork, packaging files and approval comments.

Q: What happens if we change the design after golden sample approval?

Raise a written change request. HongDing should identify the affected BOM, drawing, sample, artwork, packaging, cost, timing and test scope. A new proof or physical sample may be required before release. The previous golden sample no longer controls the features changed by the approved request.

Q: Can a digital proof replace the physical sample?

A digital proof can support two-dimensional artwork, logo position, packaging layout or barcode review, but it cannot fully validate hand feel, thickness, stiffness, fit, buckle tension, elastic recovery, edge behavior or hidden construction. The project should state which decisions can be made digitally and which require a physical sample.

Q: Which tests are included during sampling?

Only the tests explicitly scoped for the project are included. The buyer should provide the target market, buyer RSL, applicable method, acceptance limit and claim objective. Some checks can be completed on a development sample, while others require a final component, complete belt, third-party laboratory or production lot. The test report must state what was tested and what it does not cover.
